SKILLS THEY DEVELOP
IMPROMPTU SPEECH:
It is a form of oratory in which students must deliver a coherent and structured speech with a very limited amount of preparation time. Typically, the participant receives several prompts, such as quotes, abstract words, or phrases, and has one or two minutes to select one and organize their ideas. They then deliver a speech of approximately five minutes without notes or visual aids. The organization of ideas, the analysis of the prompt or quote, and the quality of the oratory are evaluated.

DUO INTERPRETATION:
It is an oral interpretation competition in which two students jointly present an adapted excerpt from a published literary work, such as a play, novel, short story, or poem. For approximately ten minutes, both participants bring multiple characters to life and narrate the story as a team, using vocal techniques, facial expression, and pantomime. It is characterized by strict rules, such as offstage focus, meaning no eye contact between the performers, the prohibition of physical contact, and the absence of props or costumes.
